GEO 330
Remote Sensing of the Environment
Remote Sensing of the Environment
Final Project
This course was in essence a continuation of GEO 130 Earth from Above. For the final project, I choose to examine the beach erosion in Southwest Michigan along Lake Michigan with the increasing water levels. I used a similar methodology to my GEO 130 project where I downloaded and subset Landsat 8 data to southwest Michigan. I then made classifications into six classes in July images every two years. After some advice from Dr. Bharath Ganesh Babu that Landsat 8 data with a spatial resolution of 30 meters was too coarse, I added NAIP imagery with a resolution of 1 meter centered over South Haven, MI. The NAIP imagery was limited to visible and near IR bands, but I was still able to do a good analysis.
