College fairs are a valuable opportunity for prospective students and their families to learn about a wide range of colleges and universities, including Valparaiso University. These events are typically organized by high schools or school districts and bring together representatives from numerous institutions to connect directly with students.
Each year, Valpo’s Office of Undergraduate Admission receives many invitations to attend college fairs across the country. Fairs are usually hosted in large venues like school gyms or cafeterias and can include anywhere from 50 to 150 colleges. Every institution is assigned a table to display brochures and materials. Valpo Admissions staff attend many of these events, however due to demand, BGAP members will be invited to assist. Please note that BGAP members should not independently register for any college fair. If you receive an invitation, forward it directly to the Office of Undergraduate Admission so it can be properly reviewed.
Fall fairs generally attract high school juniors and seniors, while spring events are geared toward sophomores and juniors. Family's also often attend these fairs with their child, so you will be interacting with both students and their families. Attendees ask questions regarding academic programs, admissions requirements, tuition, scholarships, financial aid, and campus life.
