Tips for Parents and Students:
Take 3 deep breaths before reacting
Find a quiet space when you feel overwhelmed (moving from the space where you initially felt the overwhelm)
Talk to a trusted adult if you feel sad, scared, confused, angry, and HAPPY.
Parents, positive reinforcement at home can be just as powerful as it is at school. Take time to notice and acknowledge your child’s positive choices — even something as simple as walking calmly instead of running indoors. Pointing out when they’re doing the right thing not only builds their confidence but also helps reinforce those positive behaviors.
