It depends on the service location:
Birch-All GT classes will eat lunch at Birch at 11:40. Recess will be until 12:20.
West Canyon- 3rd grade - 11:45-12:35/ 4th grade - 11:55 - 12:40/ 5th grade - 12:15- 1:00
If a student misses the GT bus, then either the student would stay in the homeroom class or parents can choose to transport the child to GT.
No problem. Just plan on picking your child up from the office of the school where you can sign them out. We will also email the originating school to notify the secretaries there. A late drop-off is similar in that once your child arrives we will notify the originating school so attendance can be updated.
Vallivue policy states that students attending GT should not need to make up assignments that practice skills the student has mastered. Vallivue teachers are to try to schedule tests and other important events around GT when possible. For the complete policy on this click here.
Most of the time there will not be required homework for GT. There will though be options for extended learning beyond the classroom and occasional home projects to complete.
Possibly. Students that are able to stay caught up in both rooms and continue to make academic growth, will be able to continue in the program with no additional testing. Students in the program are expected to maintain scores that would meet the identification criteria.
