Did you know that many fruits and vegetables can be used to create a battery? They act as the electrolyte that forces electrons to go through the wires. In our new unit, students learned what a battery is, how it work, and now how to create one. They also learned how to use a multimeter so they can measure the amount of flow in the circuit.
What has 8 arms, 2 tenticles, a beak, and moves by jet propultion? A squid of course! 4th graders got up close to squid to learn about their adaptations during our dissection. They wrote their name in squid ink, and held their brains. Take a peek into this amazing activity led by Mrs. Duerksen.
Thank you to all of our parent volunteers! 🩷
Students explored how water acts like a prism, changing the spectrum of colors below the surface. What colors are good camoflauge under water? Students hypothesized, went fishing, and graphed results! Apparently there is a reason why so many sea creatures are black and red!
How do you adapt? Students explored physical and behavioral adaptations and then edited images of animals to label them. Check out their work!
Movie producers, script writers, actors, animators, and directors are just a few of the roles that 4th graders took on as they used research on an ocean zone and green screens to create some pretty entertaining and informative videos. Check out their creativity!
4th graders animated an origami model using stop motion. Find out what amazing creations they were able to bring to life.
4th graders created some pretty informative and entertaining documentaries about a skyscraper. Check out their hard work!
4th graders explored one word - a vocabulary word. They used Google Slides to create an animated image that represents their word. Can you figure out the vocab words?Â
During our engineering unit, students have been exploring what makes a building strong. Do shapes of buildings impact the way wind flows around them? Find out how their buildings stood up against our hurricane.
Introducing. . . Our 4th grade class! Students created digital introductions in 3rd person. Click the names to learn more about them.
