Our students took on a BIG challenge: creating their very first GT movie! And wow, what an adventure it was! Along the way, they became atlas explorers, problem-solving pros (who mastered the art of folding origami boats!), set designers who brought locations to life with green screen magic, creative prop makers, and coding experts who programmed our Edison robots to help bring the boat to life!
All that creativity, teamwork, and hard work came together to create one EPIC adventure starring our friend Fred the gummy worm as he sails around the world! 🐛⛵🌍
Ready for the premiere? 🍿 Check out the finished movie AND the behind-the-scenes footage to see the incredible learning, problem-solving, and imagination that made it all happen. We think Fred would give this adventure two gummy thumbs up! 👍🐛
Students put their producer hats on this week as they wrote, created props, produced, and in some cases added sound effects and titles to their own movies. Check out these awesome stop motion movies where a main character faces multiple obstacles, and shows resilience!

Students completed their very first GT research project! They learned 5 facts about an unusual animal and then created Interactive Digital Projects that share the features of the animal using block Coding. They showed creativity and problem solving in this task.
Trial and Error is a great way to learn from mistakes! Students designed a "cool" Lego car, and applied Newton's Third Law of Physics to see how far the car could travel with balloon power. They graphed the distance traveled for each trial. The more runs they attempted, the more they learned and improved. One even went over 300 cm!
In our Moving Forward unit students are reflecting on growth and learning from failure. What better way to try, modify, improve, and grow than to create a coaster with limited time & specific requirements. Check out their trials, errors, and successes in the video!
Students calculated their "numbers" to create an introduction project. Have you ever used square roots to represent the number of people in your household? Or figured out how much you would weigh on another planet? Our 3rd graders have! Check out to video to see more.
We have an AWESOME group of kids ready to learn and grow in GT. Find out more about them below!
We had an awesome day getting to know our 3rd graders! We went beyond rules and routines and took on some interesting challenges. Students had a quick team engineering challenge, learned some of the strengths of their brain, and tested their perseverance when something seemed impossible. Take a peek into our day by watching the video to see them in action.
