Third graders were inspired by the Greek Myth about Talos, possible the first time robots were imagined. Talos was said to guard the island of Crete and would attack intruders by throwing rocks. Check out the robotic guardians created by the class.
Students took on the role of movie producers to create cartoons of some Greek Myths. They read and summarized them and then created animations. Check out their amazing creations inspired by Greek Myths!
Third graders worked hard to produce a scene of one of the 12 Labors of Hercules. Check out the wild battle scenes and epic adventures of Hercules in their stop motion movie.
Theseus and The Minotaur inspired some pretty a-mazings tasks! Students created Lego mazes with criteria and then learned how to create their own mazes on paper. Then we went BIG and programmed our new Edison Robots through the student-designed mazes. Check out footage of the day in the video.
Wow! 3rd graders had to step up and solve a REAL case! Someone swiped their candy! Looking for evidence, interviewing suspects, and running some scientific tests helped close the case!Â
Our 3rd graders enjoyed spending time with members of the Nampa Police Department today as they talked about their jobs. 3rd graders explored some geometry today by incorporating specific angle types, polygons, and radial symmetry while creating Lego snowflakes that met criteria. Check out their design diagrams!
Creative Engineering is so fun! Third graders took on a big project today where they showed creativity in programming, tested their ability to follow directions, and show critical thinking and problem solving while collaborating. Check out their Robot Art!
Third graders became directors, engineers, and artists as they planned Fred's Adventure, an exciting action movie where Fred, (the gummy worm) sails around the world. When you watch their movie, you will see that it wasn't all smooth sailing! There is also a short video showing behind the scenes of their movie making.
