Squid Dissection

4th graders took on the role of scientists today while they dissected squid. Did you know squid eyes take up nearly half of their head? Take a peek into this great activity by checking out the video.

What is made of triangles, needs no pillars for support, and makes for a very creative hat? Geodesic domes, of course.

Ever wonder how skyscrapers withstand the high winds of a hurricane? So did we! Students attempted to create towers to withstand severe wind loads. Some were strong enough to withstand our category 4 gusts! Check out their design attempts in the video.
