Detective Fred Solves a Mystery
Fred in Greek Mythology
Students showed their creative side by creating a scene based on the 12 tasks of Hercules. Check out their amazing work and take a peek behind the scenes.
Third graders put their sleuth skills to the test as they solved this real mystery! Who stole the Airheads? Looking for Clues, interrogating suspects, running forensic tests, and analyzing the evidence helped students deduce who had "dunnit".
3rd graders took on the engineering challenge of designing a balloon powered vehicle that could potentially carry a load of candy. Peek into their creative thinking by watching the video.
Observations + Clues = Inferences
3rd graders solved some mysteries today by making observations of some items under a microscope and then reading some clues. These science sleuths closed the cases with some really great inferences! Watch the video for a peek into the classroom.
3rd graders took on a very big project this week! They used atlases to find a location on Earth for Fred (the gummy worm) to visit as he traveled the world. Students then built and programmed our Lego Robotics and created backdrops and props, and then recorded a scene in Fred's epic journey.
Behind the scenes of Fred's Voyage
Our second day of 3rd grade GT was a busy one! Students completed centers to calculate numbers that represent them right now (like weight on another planet, how many cm tall they are, and even how old they are in dog years). In the afternoon, they worked together to save Fred, the curious gummy worm. Take a peek at the day by watching the video.
We are so excited to finally get to know our 3rd graders! Learn more about them in these fun slide shows!
