Experiments with Static Electricity.

Students with partners created static electricity with a comb and then used it to attract cherrio's and packing peanuts. They enjoyed playing with Static electricity!

Making Toothpaste! -Harder than it sounds!

7 groups followed a recipe for a classic toothpaste. They chose flavor and color. . .

Learning about the Properties of Minerals

Students rotated through 5 stations looking at the different properties of a Mystery Mineral in order to identify it.

Creating Pencil Holders with Playdough

Students used playdough to make pencil holders. Student had to do this multiple times in order to build their creativity with original ideas. They then gave positive feedback to their partner. The feedback had to be kind, helpful and specific. We practiced this after each 5 minute creating time. Enjoy all their wonderful ideas!

Snickers Rock Lesson!

Students worked together to compare and contrast the difference between a Hershey and a Snicker's Bar. This was a simile for the differences between Rocks and Minerals. (Minerals are pure in form - rocks can be made up of several types of minerals.)
