Mr. Stewart from Stewart's Gem Shop in Boise came to speak to the class about gems in Idaho. It was informative, entertaining and wonderful! Kids not only heard about gems, but also saw where they are in ID, and later were able to hold and look at the gems. Plus Mr. Stewart shared many wonderful stories of rock hounding! Thank you Mr. Stewart and we hope you come back next year!
For our final unit project, students researched an Idaho Mine. Then they created a newscast focusing on one event in that mine's history. These dramatic moments are part of our ID history. Enjoy!
