My name is Stephanie Carmack, and I have had the pleasure of serving as a school counselor in the Valley View School District for the last 20 years. I have been married to my husband Scott for the past 32 years. We have two fantastic children. My daughter is a leasing manager in Bowling Green, Ohio, and my son is a police officer for the city of West Carrollton.
Before working as a school counselor, I spent five years teaching in Houston Schools in Houston, Ohio. I taught 11th grade American Literature, 8th grade English and Psychology/Sociology. My dream career was to work as a school counselor, so I earned my masters degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton while teaching. After graduation, I was hired as a school counselor for Twin Valley Schools where I worked for six years with students in grades 4 through 8. In 1999, I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to work as a school counselor for Valley View Schools. Valley View is truly a wonderful place to work, and I am blessed to be able to work with the students here and help guide them through their junior high years.
