Welcome to the Valley View Junior High Counseling website! Junior high is both an exciting and challenging time with students experiencing great growth and change. As the junior high counselor, I am here to help you and your student with their academic achievement, career exploration, as well as their social/emotional development. I work with students through classroom guidance, small groups, and individual meetings. Below are some of the programs offered through the VVJH Guidance department:

  • Red Ribbon Week

  • Say Something Week

  • Career Day

  • Career Research Activities

  • Peer Tutoring

  • Lunch support groups

  • New student orientation

  • 504 Support

Students are able to meet with me for small group and individual counseling to assist with a variety of concerns and problems, including:

  • friendship

  • problem solving

  • academic improvement/study skills

  • divorce

  • grief and loss

  • stress reduction/crisis intervention

  • career guidance

  • time management/organization

Parents are free to call the Counseling Office at any time for a meeting if you have academic, social, or personal concerns about your child. I will help to arrange parent-teacher conferences, small group or individual counseling, as well as outside referrals for intervention.

Please take some time to check out the VVJH Counseling website for other resources that may be helpful to both you and your child!
