📖 Academics This Week

Spalding / Spelling

• Phonograms Test (30): Thursday, 10/8

• Spelling Tests

  • Pretest: Thursday, 10/8

  • Final Test: Friday, 10/9 (students with 100% on the pretest skip the final test)

• Neat handwriting and correct letter formation are required.

Reading / Vocabulary / Book Reports

• Weekly Story: “Giacco and His Bean” (From Sea to Sea).

• Story copy should stay in the blue homework folder sheet protector (home and school use).

• Reading & Vocabulary Test: Thursday, 10/8

• Vocabulary list (blue folder) should be studied nightly.

Language

• Focus: Adjectives that compare.

• Language Arts Test: Wednesday, 10/7.

• Please continue keeping Daily Grams for practice and review.

Math

• Lessons 36–39 this week:

  • L36 – Counting quarters

  • L37 – Finding half of a set of objects

  • L38 – Adding three or more single-digit numbers

  • L39 – Telling time to 5-minute intervals; a.m./p.m.; minutes in an hour; hours in a day

• There will be a math test on Friday, 10/9.

Science

• New unit: People Grow and Change.

Social Studies

• None
