Class overview
Students will learn to teach their peers, work with their peers, team build, engineer projects, independent think & solve problems and learn about applicable life and physical sciences as the core of all my classes. By hands on labs, activities and interactive teaching practices, each kid should be full engaged in each class offered.
About me
Hi my name is Amy Applegate and I am very excited to be your Science/CTE/STEM/P.E teacher for the upcoming school year once again. I have a wonderful family that I love; one husband, two kids, and one dog (who, let's be honest, is my favorite child.😉) When I am not at work or coaching, my family and I are typically on the go to the next adventure.
Long ago, I graduated from Willowcreek Elementary. It feels good to be back in the hallways that have always felt of home. Once a warrior, always a warrior. From there, I then went on to graduate from Vale High school and furthermore, OSU. I earned a Bachelor's of Science in Agricultural science with a minor in Animal Sciences and an emphases in Horticulture from Oregon State University. I am currently obtaining my Master's in Education.
I have competed in sports my whole life, finishing my career playing basketball for Walla Walla Community college. Being active, working out, and competing is what I know and love.
I have always enjoyed learning and studying the "why" things work or "how" they grow, live and survive. I am looking forward to learning with your kids this school year!
