About Me

My name is Candice Barber. I have been a special education teacher for the past 10 years. This is my first year as a specialist in the Vale School District. Currently, I work with 9-12 students in the morning at Vale High School and spend my afternoons working with 7-8 students at Vale Middle School. As a special education teacher, my job is to help my students be successful in the general education classroom. I continuously help and support differentiated instruction so that each student can complete the classwork at his or her instructional level. I work collaboratively with VMS and VHS teachers to support your students' educational success.

This is my 15th year teaching here in the valley. I was born in Eastern Idaho and was raised in Ontario. I am a graduate on Ontario High School and received my Bachelor Degree in Education from Eastern Oregon University and my Master in Special Education from Northwest Nazarene University. Previously, I have taught Kinder, 1st, 3rd, 4th grades and was a learning specialist for the Ontario School District.

I am married to my wonderfully supportive husband Philip and have 1-year-old twin boys that keep us very busy. Along with the boys we have 2 dog that think they are humans. In my free time I enjoy to travel, spend time with my family and friends, and to sneak in naps whenever I can.

I look forward to working with your child as he or she grows this year. As one of your child’s teachers, I will help your child work to their full potential and become more responsible as they prepare for their futures. I believe each of us has natural strengths and talents and I endeavor to recognize and nurture them in the students I work with. I love working with my students who I consider very intelligent and unique and love being part of this school community.
