All About Me

The Basics

This is my 23rd year teaching. I have taught all ages from kindergarten to 7th grade. This will be my fourth year teaching 7th grade. I have been married for 24 years to my husband Tony. We have five kids--Jarrett, McKenzie, Skyler, Bristol, and Kennedy.

My Childhood

I was born in Burley, Idaho. My family moved to Snake River, a small town in Southeast Idaho, when I was six years old. I lived there until I went to college. I have five sisters and two brothers. I grew up babysitting my siblings and helping my grandparents on their small farm.

My Education

I graduated from Snake River High School as valedictorian. I then attended college in Logan, Utah, and graduated in 2000. I received my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with an emphasis in social studies. I love learning about history, so it should be no surprise that my favorite genre is historical fiction.
