Chromebook Set-Up Process

Every district-issued Chromebook is fully managed through a collaborative process between the Technology Department and the Digital Education Coordinators. This ensures all devices are properly configured, secure, and ready for classroom use.

Before a classroom receives a set of Chromebooks, each device is individually prepared by a Technology Specialist. This includes:

Updating the operating system
Applying district configurations
Adding asset labels
Enrolling the device into the District Google Organizational Database

Once enrolled, each Chromebook is assigned to its specific school site and grade level within our management system.

For Example

If a class set is deployed to Room 20 at Browns Valley Elementary, those Chromebooks are placed in the Browns Valley → 6th Grade folder within the district’s Google management console.

From there, the devices automatically receive all required:

Grade-level settings
District-Approved apps and extensions
Security and filtering rules
Instructional tools
Usage restrictions or permissions

These configurations are curated and maintained by the Digital Education Coordinators, ensuring that every grade level has the appropriate digital tools aligned with curriculum and student needs.
