For Fourth Graders

Welcome to the 4th Grade General Music page! The 4th grade general music program is designed to introduce students to the fundamental components of music such as rhythm, pitch, dynamics, and tempo using various audio and video clips along with some pitched and non-pitched percussion instruments. These are the components that our 5th and 6th-grade music teachers have determined are the best foundation to successfully learning an instrument or singing in choir beginning in the 5th grade. The general music program will also introduce and demonstrate the instrument families available in 5th grade so the students will have a better understanding when choosing their instruments next year. Additionally, students will learn about and use some digital music-making tools on their Chromebooks. They will also learn about opportunities that await them in the middle and high school music programs.
