Shaving Cream Letter Practice

What do you need?

• Shaving Cream
• Flat surface to spread the shaving cream out on (a large cookie sheet works best - large space & contains the mess)

How does it work?

• Give your kiddo a letter to write.
• Have them write it uppercase and lowercase.
• Repeat with all the letters.
• BONUS - have them write their name.

Variation? Is this too easy?

• Give your kiddo sight words to spell.
• Examples - any, was, is, from, she, he, my, cook, school (see kiddos folder for more options)
• For fun - at the end have them write their name.

Math - Whiteboard Work

What do you need?

• Mini Whiteboard (or a clean paper works)
• Whiteboard Marker (pen or pencil if using paper)

How does it work?

• Write out math problems on the whiteboard.
• For examples of problems we are working on see your kiddos folder.
• Make a large, empty box after the problem for your kiddo to write the answer in.
• Send them on their way to work!
• Check them - work through any that are wrong.
• Give them more problems that they struggled with.

Making Slime is Science!

What do you need?

• 2 bottles of Elmer's Glitter Glue (whatever color glue you choose will be the color of the slime)
• 1 tablespoon of Baking Soda
• 3-4 tablespoons of Contact Lens Solution

How does it work?

• Pour the 2 bottles of glue into a bowl.
• Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda.
• Add 3 tablespoons of contact lens solution.
• Stir.
• If mixture is loose - add another tablespoon of contact lens solution.
• Mix mixture using your hands (if it gets really sticky on your hands, the contact solution will help you get it off).
• PLAY.

Sensory Bags

What do you need?

• Ziploc Bag
• Duct tape (colored or fun patterned)
• Uncooked Rice or hair gel
• Fillers: (can vary based on what your kiddo likes)

-Craft pom-poms

-Water beads

-Fake flowers

-Glitter

-Small brightly colored things : beads, marbles, etc.

How does it work?

• Set out Ziploc bags (as many as you want to make).
• Tape all edges of Ziploc bags with duct tape (not the top - until you fil it).
• Fill a 3/4 of the bag with uncooked rice or hair gel (uncooked rice will make the bag like a scavenger hunt, hair gel will make the bag fun to touch and squish).
• Add all the fillers your kiddo picked out.
• Duct tape the top of the Ziploc bag.
• Have your kiddo play with the bag!
