Dates: Thu Jan 15 - Sat Jan 17, 2026
Venue: Alder Auditorium and Commons, University of Washington campus, Seattle
Registration: There is no registration fee and the workshop is open to all. Please register by completing this form.
Housing: The University Inn is recommended. All invited participants will be staying there. A discount rate is available until December 31 by following this link.
Travel: From Seatac airport, Link Light Rail takes you (in 47 minutes for $3.00) to the U District Station which is 0.4 miles from the hotel and 0.4 miles from Alder Hall. A taxi from Seatac costs about $70. The closest parking is in the Central Plaza garage.
Description: Open quantum systems range from condensed matter to trapped atom systems, from theory to experiment, and from fundamental science to applications. To create a uniquely stimulating environment in this workshop, some invited participants will be asked to speak while others will be tasked with keeping the audience discussions lively.
Sponsorship: TIQM activities are sponsored by the University of Washington Department of Physics, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Engineering. Thursday's dinner is sponsored by Quantum Design.
