David J. Thouless Postdoctoral Fellowships

Thouless Postdoctoral Fellowships support outstanding early career researchers in the field of quantum matter, ranging from condensed matter and atomic physics to materials science and quantum-based devices. Applicants must have no more than two years of postdoctoral experience at the time of appointment. The fellowships will have a three-year term with an annual stipend of $84,000 and an annual research fund of $10,000 to be used in support of research and professional travel. 

Applications for the program begin with nomination by an established senior researcher, who is asked to provide a brief statement of why the candidate is suitable for this highly selective program. Nominees meeting the requirements will be invited to submit a full application which will comprise a cover letter, CV, two-page research statement, and three references including the nominator.
