Here is a virtual taste of the UW campus, and the greater Seattle area.
Many of us consider our beautiful surroundings an asset to our work-life as well as to personal our well-being.
Our campus is truly beautiful all year round. The Pacific Northwest's mild climate and frequent (but gentle) rainfall make it the ideal habitat for many plants and animals. You will see why Seattle is nicknamed "the Emerald City" when you experience our thriving greenery. Don't be surprised to see Great Blue Herons nesting, Bald Eagles soaring overhead or fishing in Lake Washington, and wild rabbits hopping around between campus buildings.
Our state-of-the art libraries, fitness facilities, healthcare services, and many academic, cultural, social organizations are all in easy reach on campus. Check out the videos below to get a sneak peak of what it feels like to spend time on our campus.
This virtual tour given by Student Ambassadors of the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity does a fantastic job of highlighting many of the wonderful things our campus has to offer.
This tour covers a few of the (many) "hidden gems" on campus. Other favorites include Grieg Glade, Sylvan Theater, and especially the Union Bay Natural Area!
In case you haven't seen enough yet, here are two additional videos that show the beauty of our campus and surroundings: one, a time-lapse student-eyed view, and the other, a view from the air shot by drone.
