The RED Participatory Action Research (REDPAR) team seeks to address the following question:
Can we overcome limits that prevent the diffusion of new ideas, and can we overcome barriers to the adaption of effective practices, by focusing on the change agents themselves, in terms of their skills and change expertise?
You, the RED grant recipients, are disciplinary experts, but you may have not been equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities that research suggests are essential for effective change management. We provide the opportunity (1) to learn and develop skills for effective change management and (2) to build a RED Consortium (REDCON) for finding support, collaboration, and increased impact.
We are conducting participatory action research (PAR). The PAR approach is intended to be a collaborative, self-reflective, and empowering inquiry undertaken by both researchers and participants. We will follow your work over a five-year period, capturing your reflections on your efforts through observation, phone interviews, focus group discussions, and site visits.
