As part of our study abroad experience, you will create a travel blog post that documents the day's activities and captures your learning and reflections; we will use this as a way to capture the progress of our learning, reflect on the experience as a group, and share out with family and friends! The overarching goal is to document your experiences while thoughtfully connecting what you see, hear, and learn abroad to bigger course themes, the international travel experience, and your own learning and future goals.
Include at least one photo or image from the day that helps illustrate an experience, location, concept, or activity. Provide a brief caption explaining why you selected it (and a reference if it is a photo of a reading/quote/display or other work that should be acknowledged).
Summary of the Day - spend 1-2 paragraphs on:
Locations visited
Guest speakers or experts you interacted with
Readings, exhibits, or other course-related materials discussed
Key topics, themes, or ideas explored
Reflection and Connection- spend 1-2 paragraphs on:
What surprised you, challenged you, or interested you most?
How did today's experience add to your learning?
Connect to something you have studied previously (in a class, reading, internship, work experience, or personal experience)
What questions remain for you, or how does this connect to things you hope to learn more about in the future?
Be specific and provide examples to support your reflection.
