Welcome to the 2020 Faculty Fellows Program at the University of Washington. This peer-led program introduces you to teaching resources of UW Bothell, Seattle, and Tacoma. The focus is on evidence-based teaching, rather than on tips and tricks--although if you emerge with a couple of tips in your back pocket, that's a bonus. Colleagues you'll meet here--returning or new faculty members, practitioners and staff educators--are great resources.
The Faculty Fellows Program centers equity. We all continue to grapple with the impact of the coronavirus and the pandemic of violent racism, which predates COVID-19 by 400+ years. Both pandemics trail a cognitive burden & trauma we experience inequitably. As Leonard Pitts Jr observes, we're all in this but we're not all in this together.
Acknowledging these realities--treating yourselves and your students with compassion--will be core to your success. Draw on the communities you're part of and those you have yet to join or co-create. Let us know how we can help.

Congratulations: you're on this site now. The FF Google site functions as a conference program. Use it to find the day's schedule; read session titles, presenters, times, goals, and descriptions; access resources for each session; and learn more about each other and about presenters. This is also where you go to find time-sensitive updates: under "Announcements" below.
The site has 5 pages: home, Sept. 9, Sept. 10, Accessing Zoom and Canvas, Contacts & Resources, and a page with information about the Session Presenters.
Navigate the site by using the Navigation sidebar on the left. If you don't immediately see this sidebar on your page, go to the top lefthand corner of the page and click on the hamburger (3-lined button) . The sidebar has links to each of the 5 pages mentioned above.
Half of the FFP program is offered live (Wednesday 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Thursday 12:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.) Use UW's Zoom for all live, synchronous sessions. A UW login is required.
For instructions on how to log on to Zoom, please go to the "Accessing UW and Canvas" on this site, which you'll find by clicking on the top left navigation button here (see "Faculty Fellows Google Site," above).

Half of the FFP program is offered asynchronously, via Canvas modules. You'll go through these four modules independently between Wednesday at 1:00 p..m. and Thursday at 12:30 p.m. Thanks for finishing them up by 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, because the Zoom sessions start up again at 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
In order of newest to oldest
Please take a moment to complete the feedback survey for September 10. Access the survey with your UW NetID.
Here's how you'll be able to access our asynchronous session materials after today:
Canvas modules
These are part of an ongoing Canvas course open to all UW instructors called "Teaching with UW Technologies."
Academic Integrity and Centering Equity & Access modules (videos + knowledge checks):
Videos & knowledge checks for these will continue to be available here post-FFP. The videos will also be posted on a larger Teaching Remotely website that will soon be shared widely across campus.
Please take a moment to complete the feedback survey for September 9. Access the survey with your UW NetID.
