As a current graduate student at the University of Washington, I'm into exploring the realms of knowledge within Human Computer Interaction, Systems, and Information Science. I hold 2 undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Davis where I held multiple research assistant positions, in the Cognitive Communication Science Lab and in the C^2 Lab, while simultaneously earning dual degrees in Russian Language, and in Communication with an emphasis in Computational Social Science and Information Communication Technology.
In my current research and position is with the Community Data Science Lab, where I delve into the intricate dynamics of digital ecosystems, particularly focusing on the lifecycle of software packages and the collaborative knowledge production within Open Source communities. I'm fascinated by how contributors interact to create, revise, and standardize content, with a specific emphasis on analyzing the community processes that enhance the quality of information artifacts. Through this project, I aim to uncover fundamental principles that facilitate effective collaboration and the continuous improvement of digital commons in open source systems.
As I continue to progress in my academic journey, my dedication to scholarly excellence and my relentless pursuit of intellectual inquiry serve as guiding principles, shaping my path towards becoming a respected scholar in my field.
Ellie is a researcher with a deep rooted passion for the beauty and intricacy of nature. My journey began as a florist, where I cultivated an appreciation for vibrant colors and delicate fragrances. This passion grew when I became a tropical greenhouse gardener, conducting experiments on plants that resist blooming. Revisiting my greenhouse lab notes was a turning point, sparking my path toward becoming a researcher. Outside the lab, I embrace an active and adventurous lifestyle. Like cycling through the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, training for a triathlon, and windsurfing to unwind. Whether in research or recreation, I’m driven by curiosity, resilience, and the thrill of discovery.
