Light refreshments served at 4:30pmLynn DeBar, PhD, MPH, is a Senior Scientist at Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute. Dr. DeBar is a clinical psychologist and behavioral health researcher whose work largely focuses on health care service needs of patients with chronic pain. Dr. DeBar conducts large-scale epidemiological studies on the impact of health care policies on multidisciplinary patient care and pragmatic trials of biopsychosocial pain management approaches.

National pain treatment guidelines and state-level rules recommend non-pharmacological treatment as first-line treatment that are often unavailable and/or inaccessible to primary care practices. Since nearly all of the care for chronic pain is delivered by primary care providers, this year’s conference will be directed toward primary care providers focusing on managing pain without pills.

Dr. Theodore (Ted) Price is a Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Price's research has improved our understanding of neuronal plasticity and its impact on how the brain receives nociceptive information from the sensory system, with tangible clinical implications for patients with chronic pain. Light refreshments provided.
