Amy Pace (she/her) is an Associate Professor of Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington. She completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Psychology at Temple University and received her doctorate in Language and Communicative Disorders from San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego in 2013. She is also a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist.
Dr. Pace is the director of the Child Language Research Lab. Her research focuses on language acquisition, assessment, and intervention from birth to five, with emphasis on promoting healthy language development and learning outcomes. Current research projects focus on how Dual Language Learners (DLLs) develop the languages of their home and their communities; how to transform assessment and intervention practices for children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; and how to build research-to-practice collaborations by engaging families, educators, and community partners. Research is conducted in the laboratory, in the classroom, and in the community.
When she is not in the lab, you can find her exploring the Pacific Northwest, swimming in the lake, sound or sea, or traveling the world with her family.
