Puppet Making for You and Your Students

Puppetry combines making with creating in the theatre arts. In this class you will be introduced to a variety of puppet forms and applications across the curriculum.  Using the Engineering Design Process, you will go home with ideas and at least one puppet to begin your puppeteering journey.

Lights, Camera, Community: Managing a Media Production Space in a Public Library

The Basement Creative Lab has been open since 2018, giving patrons have free access to a studio equipped with a variety of media equipment. We'll discuss the ins and outs of running a recording space in a public library, including things we've learned along the way. Come with questions!

Participants of this session will explore music technology and music composition while making connections to character themes in children's literature.  The session will utilize the tool of Chrome Music Lab to show how students can become composers using iconic notation, then transferring those compositions to classroom instruments to facilitate performance.
