Lending Library

The Lending Library book cabinet is in the Narthex across from the door of the Sanctuary and is open Sunday mornings a half hour before and a half hour after the service. Books can be checked out for a month. They can be returned Sunday mornings or during the week in the front office during office hours.

To check a book out, bring it to the librarian who is near the display table. They will show you how to put your name, phone or email, and the date on the back of the card that is in the pocket affixed to the inside back cover of the book. The card is then placed in the "Checked Out" file box. When you return the book, your name will be crossed out and the card returned to its pocket.

All books are assigned a UUA "Shared Value" based on the subject matter content of the book. This assignment is somewhat arbitrary as many books touch on several of our Shared Values. The Shared Values are: Justice, Equity, Transformation, Pluralism, Interdependence and Generosity.

The spreadsheet has several tabs. The first, left-most tab reflects the current content of the rolling library cabinet, the "Bookmobile". The next tab over, "Upstairs" lists the books that are in the upstairs library. These are the main tabs. You can also explore the others.

In each tab, the books are sorted, first by Shared Value, then by Author, then Title. To search for a title, you can scroll down through the list, or press CTRL-F and type the title or author you're looking for in the search box.
