The global youth-led Climate Strike movement is on the rise and has gained tremendous momentum around the world in less than a year. In response to the current COVID-19 crisis, the Youth Climate Movement has moved the climate strike mobilization online to engage as many people as they can on Earth Day Live. From April 22-24, activists, performers, thought leaders, and artists come together for an empowering, inspiring, and communal three-day live-stream mobilization. In tandem with Earth Day Live, the interfaith community will offer an online faith-based Earth Day summit.
Find out all you need to know about where to find information and how to plug into the climate strikes with your faith community on the UU Ministry for Earth climate strike campaign webpage linked below.

Unitarian Universalism seeks world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all & respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Climate chaos will cause the exact opposite. Averting the climate crisis is critical to the vision and lived expression of Unitarian Universalism.
To this end, the UU Ministry the Earth and the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) Green Sanctuary Program & UU Office at the United Nations have launched the Create Climate Justice initiative, with three current priority focus areas:
Strengthening Unitarian Universalist communications and mutual support networks for Climate Justice
Mobilizing UUs in solidarity with Indigenous front-line communities
Supporting the Just Transition to an ecological civilization through partnerships and civic engagement
We are currently recruiting members to help us prepare for the 2021 Intergenerational Seminar! Positions include Youth and Adult Deans (applications due May 20, 2020), Youth and Adult Chaplains (applications due August 20, 2020), and Planning Committee members on the Trajectory of Learning Team, the Physical Reality/Logistics Team, the Spiritual Grounding Team, and the Communications Team!
Become a UU@UN Envoy for your congregation! An Envoy serves as a representative of the Unitarian Universalist Office at the United Nations (UU@UN) within their local congregation and connects the congregation to our world community. Envoys receive information on UN initiatives, global UU connections, and international engagement opportunities, and then plan events in their congregation to promote the program. Envoys are extremely valuable to the UU Office at the United Nations because they are the link between the office and local UU communities. Interested? Prospective Envoys are welcome to join an Envoys Zoom Meeting on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 3pm and 6pm EDT. RSVP here for the Zoom meeting.
United Nations Sunday celebrates the work of the United Nations and your UU Office at the UN. Each year we encourage congregations to have a service and/or event to celebrate! We create a UN Sunday Resource Packet, available in June, which highlights our suggested theme and provides readings, an RE curriculum, planning timeline and checklist, order of service (including hymns), and more. Our UN Sunday theme is based on our April Intergenerational Spring Seminar topic. Our 2020 Theme is All In for Climate Justice: People, Power, Planet. Talk to your congregation's leadership about getting a UN Sunday date reserved on the church calendar now. The recommended date is Sunday, October 25, the day after we honor the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
