The Robotics: Science and Systems (RSS) community is dedicated to fostering the next generation of robotics scientists and engineers. This workshop aims to increase participation, especially among students early in their studies and careers, by providing guidance and inspiration for pursuing a future in robotics. We welcome students who are eager to explore the vast opportunities in robotics, whether in research, industry, or entrepreneurship. Through interactive discussions, mentorship, and insights from experts, participants will gain a clearer understanding of the pathways leading to a successful career in robotics.
The Pathways@RSS 2026 program will award fellowships to selected High school, BSc and MSc students to attend RSS, and offer a dedicated program and mentorship, to help support their journey towards a career in robotics. Priority will be given to students who have not previously attended RSS and/or are new to the robotics research community.
The Fellowship Program aims to help participants actively participate in and thrive at the RSS 2026 conference. To do so, students accepted as Fellows will receive:
Registration to attend two days of RSS 2026 in Sydney, Australia.
Opportunities to interact with their cohort and robotics leaders in sessions before and during the conference
Tips and advice for making the most of conference attendance to support those attending an international robotics conference for the first time.
