Lisa-Angelique Lim is a lecturer with the Connected Intelligence Centre (CIC) at University of Technology Sydney. Lisa holds a PhD in Education from the University of South Australia, specialising in learning analytics. Her research interest lies in understanding human interactions with socio-technical systems, especially personalised feedback based on learning analytics and AI. In her current work, she partners with academics to design personalised feedback and support in their courses, and to evaluate their impact on students' learning. An active member of SOLAR, as well as having served on the Executive Committee from 2023 to 2025, Lisa has been invited to speak about the practical implementations of learning analytics, especially regarding personalised feedback. Ioana is Research Professor of Learning Analytics at CATALPA, FernUniversität in Hagen. As a computer scientist with an interest in how people learn, Ioana leads the research professorship on learning analytics. Her research uses student data collected on online learning platforms to provide feedback to students and support them in their learning. Over the past years, she has contributed to Competen-SEA, a capacity building project in South-East Asia around MOOCs, and SHEILA, a research project that investigated the adoption of learning analytics in European higher education institutions and built a policy development framework for HEIs to facilitate adoption. An active member of SOLAR, Ioana served on the Executive Committee as Secretary from 2021-2025.
Rafael Ferreira Mello is an Associate Professor at UFRPE and Senior Researcher at CESAR, holding a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UFPE and a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence in Education, with an emphasis on Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models. Dr. Mello leads national projects funded by the Brazilian Ministry of Education that aim to enhance students’ written productions and develop Learning Analytics dashboards to support educational policy implementation. His work has also involved partnerships with global organizations such as Google and academic institutions across Europe, Australia, and Latin America. With over 200 publications in leading journals and conferences, Dr. Mello has contributed to advancing AI-driven educational innovation. He also serves as an assistant editor and reviewer for major venues, including the Journal of Learning Analytics and the International Learning Analytics & Knowledge Conference.
Yi-Shan Tsai is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, and a core member of the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash (CoLAM). She is also a member of the Digital Education Research Group at Monash University, and an associate scholar of the Centre for Research in Digital Education and the Centre for Research in Education Inclusion and Diversity at the University of Edinburgh. She served as the Vice President of the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR) from 2021 to 2023. Her research focuses on advancing the understanding of socio-technical issues around the use of data in education, promoting trustful and value-based adoption of learning analytics, and enhancing feedback processes using learning analytics. The excellence of her work has been recognised through various awards, including the ALT Learning Technology Research Project of the Year (2019), Dean’s Research Awards (2021 & 2024), Best Paper Award (ASCILITE)(2021), Finalist of the Women in AI Award (2023), and Finalist of the Women of Colour in STEM Award (2025).
Joshua Weidlich is an Assistant Professur (Tenure Track) for Digital Higher Education at University of Zurich, in association with the Zurich University of Teacher Education. Before coming to Zurich, he worked as a PostDoc at the DIPF - Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education. He is an education researcher by training, interested in the intersection between education, psychology, and technology. Specifically, he currently researches feedback—how students process feedback, how to scale feedback via technology, and the unique affordances of AI-enhanced feedback.
