Lisa-Angelique Lim is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Connected Intelligence Centre (CIC) at University of Technology Sydney. Lisa recently graduated with a PhD in Education from the University of South Australia, specialising in learning analytics. Her research interest lies in understanding human interactions with sociotechnical systems, especially learning analytics-based feedback. In her current work, Lisa works closely with academics to design learning analytics-based feedback processes in their courses, and to evaluate their impact on students' learning. At the same time, she also enjoys engaging students in deep conversations to understand their recipience of personalised feedback based on their own learning data. Cait Hayward leads the research and development portfolio at University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation, with a focus on ensuring that projects are taking advantage of the vast amount of data available to them to inform design, iteration, and prioritization. She is responsible for managing the educational and operational research teams, and provides data analysis, research design, and creative problem-solving to initiatives at all stages across Academic Innovation. Prior to her role at the Center for Academic Innovation, Cait co-founded and led the development of the GradeCraft platform. Her primary research areas are learning analytics, gameful pedagogy, and novel educational technologies.
Ben leads the Educational Technology portfolio at the University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation. His responsibilities include setting technical vision and strategy for Academic Innovation as well as overseeing product direction and the design, development and operational efforts across the AI Software portfolio. Ben provides leadership in application architecture, project prioritization, expansion assessment and product development cycles.
Ben directs the efforts of the Software Development, User Experience Design, Behavioral Science and Software Operations teams and collaborates with other members of Academic Innovation Leadership as well as campus and external partners to construct and scale innovative educational applications into enterprise services that are available across the University of Michigan and partner institutions.
Holly is the Associate Director of Behavioral Science at the University of Michigan Center for Academic Innovation. She has over 20 years of experience developing interventions that motivate behavior change and informed decision making in both healthcare and higher education. She develops the survey instruments as well as the tailored content and employs strategies from behavioral science, motivational interviewing, plain language, and sticky communication.
Becky Matz is a Research Scientist on the Research & Development team at the Center for Academic Innovation at the University of Michigan. She directs and supports research projects across Academic Innovation’s portfolio of educational technologies and online learning experiences. Becky has research experience in assessing the efficacy of software tools that support student learning and success, analyzing quantitative equity disparities in STEM courses across institutions, and developing interdisciplinary activities for introductory chemistry and biology courses. Danny is a molecular biologist by training, programmer by night, researcher and academic developer by day, and educator at heart. A multiple international and national teaching award winner, he works at the confluence of learning analytics, student engagement, educational technology, and professional development and leadership to enhance the student experience. He is currently an Associate Professor in the DVC (Education) Portfolio at the University of Sydney, and also leads a cross-institutional team that develops and supports a multiple award winning learning analytics platform, the Student Relationship Engagement System. Mette is a behavioral economist dedicated to advancing our knowledge about nudging and more broadly behaviour in the field. She is an Associate Professor of Economics at Aarhus University, the Deputy Director of the Center for Integrative Business Psychology at Aarhus University, and a Fellow at TrygFondens Centre for Child Research. Her research uses field experiments and observational data to analyze intended and unintended effects of nudges, responses to nudges, as well as the possible demand for nudges.
