This semester design exercise proposes an explorative yet pragmatic approach in architectural design. It aims to expose students to various skills in integrating the many parameters and dimensions in design as an ‘integrated response to a range of problem issues’ (Lawson and Dorst 2008). It must therefore simultaneously consider specific constraints and criteria/requirements arising from key ‘generators’ (designer, client, user, legislator etc) that compound architectural design. As part of students learning process, they must be able to focus to deliver an integrated solution.
