Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs)
Programme Educational Objectives (PEOs) outline how graduates are expected to contribute to society and industry within three to five years after completing their studies. The development of PEOs is guided by the University’s Vision, Mission, Philosophy, and Objectives, as well as those of the respective Faculty. These objectives are crafted to meet the expectations and requirements of key stakeholders, including employers and alumni.
The evaluation of PEOs is carried out through both direct and indirect assessments, focusing on feedback from alumni and employers.
Indirect assessments involve perceptions of alumni performance, such as through:
Employer Surveys
Alumni Surveys
Direct assessments focus on actual achievements and outcomes observed in alumni, using:
3. Alumni Surveys (with a different set of questions measuring tangible accomplishments)
These tools help determine how well graduates are meeting the objectives defined by the program in real-world settings.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) describe the core knowledge, skills, and competencies that students are expected to develop and demonstrate by the time they complete their academic program. These outcomes reflect what learners should know, understand, and be capable of doing upon graduation.
PLOs are aligned with both national and international academic standards, ensuring that graduates meet globally recognized benchmarks. They are articulated in terms of cognitive abilities, practical skills, ethical values, and professional attitudes.
PLOs serve multiple purposes—they guide curriculum development, support quality assurance processes, and communicate the value of the academic program to prospective students, current students, graduates, and the wider community.
Importantly, students must be introduced to the PLOs on their first day of registration at the faculty, as these outcomes define the expectations they are to meet by the end of their 3½ to 4-year program.
