Getting to campus:

Saturday, November 4 is a UT football gameday, and as a result there may be significant traffic and parking restrictions in place. Special attention should be given to street closures and traffic restrictions on/around campus on gameday. A guide to this can be found here.

Rideshare

If you intend to use a rideshare app to arrive at campus, a convenient drop-off point would be the intersection of Dean Keaton and Speedway. A short walk south on Speedway will reveal WEL on the right side of the street.

Public Transport

Several bus routes go to campus on 15- or 30-minute intervals. A trip to campus can be planned on CapMetro’s Trip Planner tool. Additionally, CapMetro has park-and-ride locations throughout the city (link) which would be good options.

Some routes run 6:00-18:00 7-days a week, though others are more limited. Consult CapMetro’s schedules.

Parking

On campus:

The parking garages on campus have a high daily rate, so carpooling is highly encouraged. The closest parking garages to Welch Hall are:

• 27th Street (109 W 27th St, Austin, TX 78712)

• Speedway (105 E. 27th Street, Austin, TX 78712)

• San Antonio (2420 San Antonio St, Austin, TX 78705)

• San Jacinto (2400 San Jacinto Blvd, Austin, TX 78705)

Off Campus:

Parking can often be found in the West Campus, North University, and Hyde Park neighborhoods. These can mean anywhere from a 10 to 30 minute walk to WEL, but be sure to check the bus routes listed above (e.g., 7 and 10) when considering this option.
