Mid-Spring Check in - 3/29/2022
Right before spring break, our team submitted our 60% design plans and presented our 3rd of 4 Milestone presentations to the Service Learning Advisory Board! Thank you to all the family, friends, advisors, and other donors who have supported our goal. We celebrated by cooking a classic Costa Rican dish, gallo pinto, with homemade Salsa Lizano! 🌶🎉
As for our project scope, we've transitioned back to stairs from the ramp to maintain a safe design in the face of spatial constraints and cost limitations. For the rest of the semester, we'll be finalizing our technical design, preparing sustainability plans, meeting with community members and the contractor in Lorena, and gearing up for in-person (🤞) implementation! BUT - we still need your help. Our current cost estimates total in at just over $15,000. We've currently raised just under $11,500 and need YOUR help getting to the finish line! We invite you to share our project with anyone you know who might be interested in providing a contribution. Fall Semester Wrap Up - 12/14/2021
And with a much-needed morning hike between finals, that marks the end of the fall semester for Projects with Underserved Communities Team Costa Rica! From meeting for the first time to fundraising to giving two Milestone presentations to the Service Learning Advisory Board, we've been working hard to develop our project. With the support and guidance of our NGO partner, Siempre Amigos, and the Cockrell School faculty & engineers who work with PUC, we will be moving forward to the design portion of a ramp for the Lorena soccer field in the spring semester. We are forever grateful to the the 61 donors who have generously helped us raise $10,321 so far toward our $15,000 goal. Be on the look out for some fun winter break posts and more fundraising opportunities (remember you can always give online at the link in our bio) as we approach the new year. ¡Gracias por seguir a nuestro equipo... pura vida!

As the campaign Is coming up on Its final days we are nearly 70% complete with our campaign. Generous donations from Plummer Associates Inc. have pushed us forward a large amount.

In just a week another 1050 dollars was raised through our various sales and donors! Coming soon we have custom raffles and corporate partner raffles to help encourage more donation!
11/15/2021 Update
Thanks to the generous contributions of our donors we have hit 15% of our goal ($2250) in just one week! We will be selling Coffee and Hot Cocoa this week to continue our funding.
