Our team is partnering with Siempre Amigos to make improvements to the community soccer field in the Lorena Village in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. What is Projects with Underserved Communities?

Projects with Underserved Communities is a year-long program brought to life by a collaboration between the Cockrell School of Engineering and the Steve Hicks School of Social Work. This course combines the challenges of community need and student enrichment through a service-oriented project.

Information About Lorena Village, Costa Rica

Lorena is a rural village located in the Guanacaste Region of Costa Rica. It is located 12 miles east of the Pacific coast. The village is home to about 1,000-1,500 people, most of whom work in fishing, housekeeping, and construction. The village has a school, gathering house, and church, but most importantly, the local soccer field located in the center of town.

Information About our NGO Partner: Siempre Amigos

Siempre Amigos is a Non-Profit Organization that seeks to improve the living conditions of people in conditions of poverty and vulnerability in rural Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
