Google for Education (S) is an integrated platform used across the school to support staff and students with collaboration and productivity tools. It provides access to Google Drive and a comprehensive suite of applications and services, including UTB email, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meet, and Groups. These tools enable efficient communication, file sharing, and teamwork within the school community.
ISH Information (P/S) serves as the school’s primary information platform for parents. It provides essential details such as parent handbooks, term dates, school closures, upcoming events, platform guides, health and support, policies and procedures, and school and staff contact details.
IXL (S) supports student growth through immersive learning experiences, real-time progress insights, and personalized recommendations for next steps. Students can practice thousands of math and language arts skills anytime—at school, at home, or on the go.
LexiFlow (S) is a powerful toolbar designed to help users improve reading and writing skills—all in one place. Available as an extension within Google for Education, LexiFlow enables students to understand written text through reading and listening tools, express their opinions and comprehension in flexible ways, and boost productivity and independence with features that support diverse learning needs and levels.
ManageBac (P/S) is the school’s platform for curriculum planning and reporting student progress to parents. Weekly newsletters are also published through ManageBac, keeping parents informed about classroom activities and whole-school updates.
Skola24 (P) is used across the PYP, MYP, and DP programmes to manage schedules, attendance, and absences.
SkrivaText (S) is a comprehensive writing support tool that helps students develop their writing skills—all in one place. Available as an extension within Google for Education, SkrivaText enables students to correct spelling and grammar errors, access three dictionaries (Swedish, English, and bilingual Swedish-English), and improve their writing through advanced editing features that highlight parts of speech, sentences, and clauses for deeper analysis and development.
tes (P) is the platform the school uses to facilitate Progress Talks between students, parents, and teachers. Before progress meetings, relevant information will be published on ManageBac, and appointment bookings should be made by logging into tes.
If your school Chromebook is currently set to a language other than English and you would like to use English instead, follow the steps below. To make sure both your Chromebook and Google apps display in English, please complete all three steps.
Step 1: Change the Chromebook Language
Open Google Chrome.
Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings (Inställningar).
In the left-hand menu, click Languages (Språk).
Under Language, click Manage languages in Chrome OS settings.
Under Device language, click Change.
Select English as your preferred language.
Click Confirm and restart to apply the change.
Step 2: Change Your Google Account Language
Open Google Chrome.
Click the three dots in the top-right corner and select Settings (Inställningar).
In the left-hand menu, click Languages (Språk).
Under Language, click Manage languages in Chrome OS settings.
Scroll down and select Manage Google Account language.
Under Preferred language, click the edit (pencil) icon.
Search for and select English.
When prompted, select Sweden as your region.
Click Save.
Step 3: Clear Cookies and Cache
Important: This step is required to ensure Google for Education apps (such as Gmail, Drive, and Classroom) switch to English.
Open Google Chrome.
Click History, then select History again.
In the left-hand menu, click Delete browsing data.
Select the Advanced tab.
Set Time range to All time.
Tick:
Cookies and other site data
Cached images and files
Click Delete data.
Once you have completed all three steps, your Chromebook and Google apps should display in English. If you continue to see another language in your apps, restart your Chromebook and sign in again.
The following rules apply to all devices belonging to the International School of Helsingborg.
Students are responsible for the care and use of Chromebooks, MacBooks, PC laptops, iPads (devices) they have been issued with by the school. Devices that are broken or fail to work properly must be taken to the IT office within the school as soon as possible so that they can be taken care of properly. Devices should never be taken to an outside computer service for any type of repairs or maintenance.
General precautions:
Students should never leave their device unattended except when locked in their locker.
The device should never be loaned to another student or individual during the school day or otherwise unless requested to do so by school personnel.
Students should not take, possess, hide other students devices.
No food or drink should be next to the device.
Cords, cables, and removable storage devices (e.g. thumb drives) must be inserted carefully into appropriate port on the device.
The device should not be used with the power cord plugged in when the cord may be a tripping hazard.
The device must remain free of any writing, drawing, stickers, and labels - Labels with students names are available from the IT office.
Heavy objects should never be placed on top of the device.
Carrying the device:
Always transport the device with care.
Students should hold the device (cover closed) with two hands if they need to carry the device anywhere inside or outside of the classroom.
Never lift the device by the screen.
Never carry the device with the screen open.
Opening the device:
Open the device only when it is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk.
To open the device, use one hand to hold the keyboard against the table. Use the other hand to open the screen by grasping the screen’s edge (in the middle) and gently moving the screen to the open position - the hinge of the screen will only allow the screen to be open to a slight angle. Do not attempt to open the screen beyond this stopping point as the screen could break if forced.
Closing the device:
Before closing the screen, make sure there is nothing on the keyboard to prevent the full closure of the device. Obstacles on the keyboard could cause broken screens or damaged hinges.
Close the screen only when the device is resting on a flat surface such as a table or desk.
Close the device using two hands--one at either corner of the screen.
Close the screen gently.
Screen and device care:
The screen and device can be damaged if subjected to heavy objects, rough treatment, some cleaning solvents, and other liquids. The screens are particularly sensitive to damage from excessive pressure.
Do not put pressure on the top of the device when it is closed.
Do not store the device with the screen open.
Do not place anything in a protective case that will press against the device casing.
Make sure there is nothing on the keyboard before closing the lid (e.g. pens, pencils, or disks).
Only clean the screen and device with a soft, dry microfiber cloth or anti-static cloth.
Asset tags:
The device is labelled with a Helsingborg Stad asset tag. Asset tags may not be modified or tampered with in any way.
Charging the device:
The device should be brought to school each day with a full charge.
Students should charge their devices at home every evening.
Media:
Inappropriate media (images, audio, video, etc.) may not be accessed or stored on the device. The presence of such media will result in disciplinary action.

Audio:
Sound must be muted at all times unless permission is obtained from a teacher.
Headphone use may be permitted at the discretion of the teacher.
Operating system:
Students may not use or install any operating system on their devices other than the original operating system of the device.
Network access and security:
Students must log into their devices using the schools Wi-Fi network together with their Google UTB Education username and password.
Students should never share their account passwords with others, unless requested by an administrator.
Students are not allowed to access other students accounts.
Managing and saving digital work:
Students are responsible for frequently saving and maintaining backups of their work when working on digital media (although many cloud-based applications, including Google Docs, automatically save work) - The school is not responsible for the loss of any student work.
