When you are on a side hill and have the left mower deck up it will not power down unless it is on level ground. With the addition of the spring there is pressure on the wing and it is able to power down, therefore saving time. Region 4 has implemented this spring on several of their mowers.
A simple application to straighten unpinned segments of precast jersey barrier. Lehi shed looked at what Region 2 did and adapted for their own use on SR-92. They are able to use a grader and a slim bar and pin to slide the barrier back in place, instead of closing a lane and using the loader and lifting the barrier.
The truck hoods are a tight fit to work on, by making extension brackets the hoods open a lot further. This idea has been manufactured and dispersed to all the mechanics in the regions.
The bottom of the truck is difficult to wash. In order to stave off corrosion the department is looking into easier ways to wash the undercarriage. Several maintenance stations have fabricated truck wash systems.
