FAQ

When is the next application cycle?

Calls for applications are made every October, and applications are due in December.

When will awards be announced?

Awards are announced every year in the spring, typically in March or April.

Can I apply for TPA funding if my project is already started?

If you have already started your project, it is not eligible for TPA funding.

Are grant funds made available upfront or through reimbursement?

TPA grant funds are delivered upfront rather than through reimbursement. Funds become available in July at the start of the State fiscal year. If there are any unexpended TPA funds after the project has been completed, those funds must be returned to UDOT.

Who is responsible for consultant procurement?

The community receiving the grant is responsible for selecting and hiring consultants according to their own procurement rules.

Do I need to choose from a list of UDOT-approved consultants?

There is no requirement for a community to select from UDOT's approved consultant pool. However, if a community is interested in reviewing statements of qualification (SOQs) from consulting firms in UDOT's pool to aid in their own selection process, they may request access to those SOQs by submitting this form.

Can I use TPA funds for engineering or construction?

TPA funds may not be used for construction of any kind. Engineering is generally not an eligible use of TPA funds; however, projects may include limited engineering elements (such as conceptual design, typical roadway sections, etc.) as part of a broader planning project.
