An increased focus on performance management is part of the effort to “modernize state government.” While HB104 has some specific requirements, the good news is that most agencies are already engaging in many of the healthy performance management practices identified in the bill.
Agency heads and Executive Directors are encouraged to consider the items below to assess how prepared their agency or division is for HB104 implementation.
Our agency has:
a defined performance rating scale.
a policy requiring written performance standards and behavioral expectations for each employee in a performance plan.
a policy requiring written employee performance evaluations to occur at least quarterly.
defined incentives for meeting or exceeding production or performance goals, before work begins.
provided training for supervisors (either DHRM's web-based course or your own approved agency course).
