Dr. Sami Ullah, holding a Dr. rer. nat. degree, is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Forestry and Range Management at Kohsar University Murree, Pakistan. He also serves as the Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) in the Forest Resources Section of the GIS and Space Application in Geoscience Lab at the National Center of GIS and Space Application (NCGSA), Institute of Space Technology, Pakistan.
Dr. Ullah earned his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) from the Institute of Forest Sciences, Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources, University of Freiburg, Germany. His research focuses on leveraging active and passive spaceborne and airborne sensors to estimate forest structure variables, assess deforestation and afforestation, monitor forest cover dynamics, and apply machine learning algorithms for land use change analysis.
He has contributed to international research projects such as S2BIOME and DIABOLO as a research assistant and has led or co-led several national projects as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-PI. Dr. Ullah's scholarly contributions include approximately 40 publications in high-impact journals, reflecting his expertise and dedication to advancing research in forestry and remote sensing.

Bio
Dr. Muhammad Ali has Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from University of the Punjab, Lahore. Started working as visiting He worked at the same university as visiting Lecturer and as a Research Associate. Currently, he is serving as Lecturer at the Department of Agriculture, Government College University Lahore. Dr. Ali’s research interests are fungal plant pathogens of crops and forest trees, biological and environment friendly management of trees and plant pathogens. He has authored a number of research articles based on his research about the fungal plant pathogens. He also worked a lot on the wood rotting forest fungi, different types of mushrooms and written a book “Mushrooms of Pakistan” that is very first colored atlas of native mushrooms from Pakistan.
