This immersive three-day program is designed for behavioral health students who are seriously considering a career as an active-duty military provider in the Army, Air Force, and Navy. You will learn more about military culture, application requirements, job opportunities and responsibilities from active duty behavioral health officers, Training Directors, and military leaders. It is an exciting opportunity to learn more about this career pathway and network with peers who share similar goals.

There is no registration fee to attend. Lodging expenses are covered for the duration of the course (for those residing more than 50 miles from Bethesda, MD). Participants are responsible for their own travel, meals, parking, and incidentals.
Hosted at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, located in Bethesda, MD.
Designed for students who are seriously considering applying for military psychology internships or military social work positions in the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force.
This intensive program will strengthen students’ backgrounds in military behavioral health, as they gain first-hand knowledge of military culture, the work of behavioral health providers serving in uniform, and evidence-based strategies to treat active duty service members
Eligibility
This program is intended for:
Psychology doctoral students (clinical or counseling) applying to internships internships in 2027 or later
MSW students in clinical social work, currently in their 1st or 2nd year of training
Eligibility Requirements:
Participation requires submission of an application, acceptance into the program, and compliance with both academic and military eligibility requirements.
This course is NOT appropriate for students who plan to begin their military internship in the fall of 2026.
