Basic Information of Each Cultural Assets
The historic two-story Spanish-Colonial home in Calamba, Laguna, where José Rizal was born on June 19, 1861, has been recreated as the Rizal Shrine. The Philippine National Historical Commission has declared the home as a National Shrine (Level 1) in that country. It is situated near the City College of Calamba and St. John the Baptist Parish Church in Poblacion 5 in Calamba. It is near Mercado Street and Rizal Street.

Significance to the Community
People are reminded of Dr. Jose Rizal's bravery by the Rizal Shrine through items associated with the national hero, such as his renowned revolutionary works Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. The Rizal Shrine has six galleries with several interactive and traditional exhibits, as well as facsimiles, portraits, replicas, and genuine relics connected to Dr. Jose Rizal.
Mode of Transportation: From Metro Manila
Option 1: From Metro Manila, take the MRT Line 3 in the direction of North Avenue, and exit at Ayala. Once there, take a short 8-minute walk to Glorietta 3 where you may wait for a bus going to Calamba, Laguna. After reaching Calamba, Laguna, get on a tricycle and travel to Rizal Shrine.

Option 2: From Metro Manila, go to lawton via bus or jeep. Once there, it will take you around 9 minutes to reach Manila Multimodal Terminal on foot. From there, take a bus going to Calamba. After arriving, take a tricycle to the Rizal Shrine.

Option 3: From Metro Manila, travel 60.7 km via car or rented vehicle to reach Rizal Shrine in Calamba, Laguna.
