This step must be carried out by the partner institution by our Online Form.
Note 1: If it is not possible to access Google Form, the partner can send the students' data by email (full name, email, gender, course of origin, mobility period)
Note 2: We ask that our partners NOT make the nomination directly in the Mundus system.
Note 3: Nominations made directly by the student will be disregarded.
Deadline for nomination:
mobility that start in February: until 05/Oct
mobility that start in August: until 05/May
Application: Nominated students will receive a message from the Mundus system so they can complete their Application. At this stage, the student must provide the following documents:
Transcript of records
versions in English, Spanish and Portuguese are accepted. Documents issued in other languages must be sent along with a simple translation into Portuguese, English or Spanish
Learning Agreement (link for template)
it needs to be signed and stamped by an academic who has the authority to approve the mobility programme of outbound students (Learning Agreements), to exceptionally amend them when necessary, as well as to guarantee full recognition of such programmes on behalf of the responsible academic body;
Passport
bio-data page. It must be valid for the period of exchange at USP;
Photo
in .jpeg format. It will be used for your Student ID; Choose a photo with your face visible, looking at the camera, with a neutral and clear background;
Commitment Statement (link for document)
Letter of Recommendation (optional)
a one or two-page letter of recommendation from an academic authority at the home university (in Portuguese, English or Spanish) for participation in the relevant exchange program at USP.
Important: At the time of application, the selected disciplines are merely "illustrative," as the list of disciplines offerings for the following semester is made available one month before classes begin, therefore, AFTER the application period.
This selection serves only to allow the Mundus system to understand the student's study objectives and assign them to the faculty that best fits their program of study, since this system applies to the entire USP, and USP is a university with over 40 faculties.
In other words, if the student selects more geography disciplines than architecture disciplines during the application, he/she will be assigned to the Faculty of Geography, not the Faculty of Architecture.
Deadline for application:
mobility that start in February: until 15/Oct
mobility that start in August: until 15/May
Our office will only begin reviewing applications AFTER the application period ends.
Please note that this is crucial, as during our review process, we must consider the total number of students enrolled and whether it is feasible to accommodate that number.
If more students are enrolled than we can accommodate, we will need to review the applications more carefully to select students within our capacity.
Acceptance letters are generally sent to students 2 to 3 weeks after the application period ends.
Important: Students should carefully check that their personal information is correct upon receiving the letter. Our system allows for one reissue of acceptance letters within a week of the initial issuance.
International students must apply for a study visa at the nearest Brazilian embassy.
Please note that this step can be time-consuming, so students should begin the process as soon as possible. If students wish to purchase airline tickets before obtaining a study visa, we recommend purchasing the ticket with the option to rebook.
The acceptance letter is essential for obtaining a study visa, so students should ensure that all personal information is correct.
Note 1: Students with Brazilian nationality (i.e., a Brazilian passport) do not need to apply for a visa.
Note 2: A visa is authorization to enter Brazil. Therefore, after arriving in Brazil, students have 90 days to apply for their Immigrant Registration Number (RNM) with the Federal Police.
Note 3: It is recommended that students also apply for their Individual Taxpayer Registry (CPF) at the Brazilian embassy.
