Student mobility is the most common form of cooperation between FAU-USP partner institutions.
It consists of a one- or two-semester exchange program for students regularly enrolled at their home institution, with the goal of taking disciplines abroad. After this period abroad, the student must return to their home institution.
The student must be nominated by their home institution, and our office will register them in the system so they can complete their application in the Mundus system.
After the application submission period has ended, our office will review the submitted documents. Approved students will receive a letter of acceptance.
Note 1: We recommend that students interested in an exchange program review our academic information to better understand how teaching at FAU-USP works.
Note 2: Information about nomination and application process can be read here.
FAU-USP welcomes professors through the Visiting Professor program.
For an international professor to be eligible for this program, it is important that they have:
A FAU-USP professor coordinating their activities;
An active professor position at the foreign institution
The review and approval process for a visiting professor can take several months, so it is recommended that the professor begin this process as soon as possible to avoid disruptions to planned activities.
To receive mobility for an administrative employee, FAU-USP initially requires a formal request from the employee's home institution to be sent by email (international.fau@usp.br), indicating the exchange period and the activities scheduled for the period, in addition to the objectives that are intended to be achieved with this mobility program.
Our office will review the request, and if approved, we will send a letter of acceptance.
If adjustments to the initially submitted program are necessary, our office will contact the home institution and the employee to adjust the proposed activities.
We ask that requests for this type of mobility be sent to us at least 3 months in advance.
If a group of students or international visitors would like to visit FAU, either to see our building or to meet with a faculty member, please contact us in advance so we can check the best day and time to accommodate your visit.

For participation in events, exhibitions, classes, and panels, we also request that our office be notified so we can record the visit in our systems.
In addition to the academic collaborations mentioned above, we can also conduct other collaborations involving other areas, such as joint research, the development of a joint course or master's degree, seminars, and other activities involving both institutions.
For these activities, please contact the FAU professor coordinating the partnership, as they will be the coordinator of this initiative at FAU-USP. Or contact our office, and we will try to build the necessary bridges to achieve this objective.
Our office works with two types of agreements:
Cooperation Agreement (called MoU): This is generally a broader agreement, where no specific cooperation activity is defined. This document signed between the parties will serve as the basis for other, more specific agreements.
Academic Mobility Agreement: This is an agreement with a defined purpose. We typically require partners to sign this agreement model, as it allows us to initiate mobility activities between institutions.
For any type of agreement, it is mandatory that a FAU-USP professor be appointed as the academic coordinator of the agreement.
Other types of agreements, such as agreements for Double Degrees, Cotutela, Joint Research, and Joint Master's degrees, are legal documents that require review by other departments of FAU-USP. Therefore, their processing and analysis are different from the two models suggested above. If you are interested in these other types of agreements, please contact us so we can help you with this process.
