  • Facilitate opportunities to learn about teaching methods and environments that support engaged learning

  • Invest in the design of classrooms, labs, and work spaces that support project and problem based learning

  • Invest sufficient resources in support of active learning; seek philanthropic and corporate support when necessary

Goal: Support The Class of 1963 Center for Academic Excellence

  • Increase the philanthropic resources invested in the Center for Academic Excellence to better enable the development and support of programs for all midshipmen seeking to improve their academic performance

  • Expand programming to better accommodate midshipmen needs

Goal: Support Technical staffing

  • Technical lab support positions

    • Give careful consideration to the use of Instructor of Practical Applications positions to support learning in technical and laboratory settings

    • Staff technical positions to appropriate numbers as indicated by a careful analysis of requirements

  • Library positions

    • As appropriate, maintain hiring competitiveness with colleges by using the administratively determined (AD) classification for reference and instructional librarian positions
